Best book for Google Adwords beginner?

My nonprofit recently got a Google Adwords Grant for $25k so I want to learn the basics on how to use Adwords effectively. I’d much prefer straightforward and practical rather than theoretical, and of course, the more up to date, the better.

Google changes AdWords so fast that it is difficult to find a current book on it… With that said I would recommend first reading the Classic “Mastering Search Advertising” by Richard Stokes and then check out “Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords” by Perry Marshall and Bryan Todd.

Since you want to “Master” the topic you should consider “Advanced Web Metrics with Google Analytics” by Brian Clifton. You need to measure it all to improve any of it.
