Page Rank Transfer from an old site to a new location – Search Engine Optimization

In the transition from an old to a new website, it is extremely important to examine the old locations existing organic search engine position. If the right strategy then is not the old sites location in the search marketplace performed could be affected dramatically. It is important to gain an understanding of two specific areas of the old site in front of a strategy:

1) The existing listing Saturation: This is the number of pages to be listed, temporarily stored and indexed in each of the major search engines. Each page is listing Producing a level of visitor numbers, each associated to different groups of keywords and search terms. It is to ensure that we remain current page URL's like or old URL's are mapped directly to the new site. Ensure that each page directly to the new version cards.

2) The existing link popularity: This is the number of pages to which links will form a path back to the old location or where the old site was directly linked from another site via a hyperlink. This includes 3rd party web sites, directories, social media sites, articles, news and review sites, etc. The links are the basis for the sites popularity, and Page Rank. It is important to ensure that all links to live and to stay the same active site point weather new or old.

Both areas are directly connected to the old locations existing search engine presence and performance. If a strategy for the transition and maintaining these links is not adopted before the DNS to the new Location is moved, it is possible that the new site will be a massive drop in Page Rank, Trust Rank and saturation listing received. It can take up to six months of would this kind of situation again, and unfortunately there is a percentage of links to the website, which can be lost forever.

There are two strategies that can be used To avoid this, and the locations to get online presence up:

1) use of all URL strings, page titles and meta data in the formation of the new website and its pages. The contents, page titles and meta data can be improved or adapted, but the relevance of the site must be maintained. With the creation of most new site upgrades, this is the most practical way forward and is more time efficient. As the site and its pages appear the same in the search engines but only updated (Ie, the URL of the page is identical, but the content and file sizes will be different.) Page rank, link popularity and link saturation is maintained and transmitted to the new site. The search engines will notice the difference in page size, file sizes and file names, etc. This should improve search engine interest because they believe that the content has been updated, as this throughout the website is to increase robot visits, and it may lead to the site listings updated. This should mean that all new pages indexed and collected from you pretty quickly.

2) All the old pages are web pages indexed and mapped to their counterpart Pages to the new site with a 301 redirect (permanent redirect) and Mod-Rewrite. In most cases, each page is its PageRank employees transferred to the new page mapped, but this is not always the case, and it will take some time. Often search engine will be listed first fall in rank, since all appear on the site and restart Then once you raise the page rank is transferred. Some pages lose their page rank and popularity, and it is difficult to predict the reason behind this. Inbound links from 3rd party websites to the new pages are mapped to the site with this strategy. Associated Page Rank will be transferred to the page, but this is not immediately effective and may take some time, all of 1-3 months, depending on the importance of the linking sites. If possible, it would be worth contacting link partners and Directory sites change the corresponding URLs. This can be a difficult and time consuming process and the result is sometimes more time-and cost remain the websites current search engine marketing strategy with the new URLs.

To help promote the indexing of new pages it will be crucial to create regular Sitemaps (monthly or when New content added to the site.) And it directly to the search engines, giving them a complete guide to the entire page structure sites.
