New York Hotels and Twitter ROI

Does Twitter Have a Good ROI for the New York hotel marketing? (And what would that mean, anyway?)

In earlier times, I have the bold claim that Twitter has a poor return on investment made in marketing. Lately, I have argued that we "ROI to influence reconceptualize "for social media, perhaps even renaming the abbreviation" Return on Information "or" return on. "Such Twitter skepticism reflects the current debate among our marketing team as we fight to the relative strengths and weaknesses of social media on marketing hotel to understand.

Internet Marketing for New York Hotels

Marketing title = "New York Hotels & Twitter Marketing"> Hotels in New York is a delicate matter. This is partly because of the sheer extent of competition in Manhattan and the Greater NY area due. It can be a difficult task to brand a hotel in this city and to offer affordable, yet competitive prices for customers. In addition, get search engine visibility here in New York is extremely difficult without serious dollars and a power station PR or advertising agency. It's just the nature of the region, New York is a world city, a friend said to me. Hotels in New York and have to adapt to these unnecessary in many ways that in other regions.

But Twitter still is the potential on the field. Recent trends of our hotel Twitter feed I manage have caused me to withdraw my earlier assertion that social Media provides low ROI.

Create Buzz with Twitter

Yesterday a couple of things came together for me in a strange kind of serendipity. A hotel in New York for which I work is about to release a new product, leave, and I began a conversation about the product on his Twitter feed. Immediately I got some responses from enthusiastic, interested supporters. "Sounds great!", "How can I in yet!" And "You're on a roll today!" were just some of the answers.

So, in an almost Taoist go-with-the-flow kind of way, carried away by the energy of the moment, I put together quickly, online marketing promotion. It has been trampled on the spur At the moment, not planned or thought out – more of an experiment than anything else. I said that our supporters when they download title = "New York Hotels – Toolbar"> the hotel in the toolbar, it would be to know especially the first one on the – on your desktop. (The toolbar has via a Java API that allows me to send alerts to a desktop.)

"The next group, the messages are received our Facebook Fans" I continued: "So, if you miss the toolbar update, you should go ahead and start after us on Facebook, because this is the next round of updates."

The third group will be updated our Twitter followers, I explained. "After that it will be open to the public and it is anybody's Game. "

Twitter and CRM

All of this (marketing?) Happen before I sent the deal to our e-mail list.

Interestingly enough, the "buzz" from this not-out planned to off the cuff, "promotion" was pretty good. Commitment and increased response times. New Twitterers to follow the hotel came to get in the action. It was a thick air of expectation that gave me pause to think seriously about what is happening was.

And all this has occurred in the time span of 10 minutes at the most! Could Twitter become the next industry-standard Customer Relationship Management application?

The Takeaway

A colleague of mine who is a PR manager is sold on Twitter marketing. She believes that Twitter is the next major search engine has become and will revolutionize the production of news. She has been researching Twitter and everything is composing a position paper on the subject, the first draft, of which I reviewed. Their thesis is that Twitter championship is the next big thing in SEO best practices are. I, on the other hand, am still not on this sold.

But exchanges of yesterday has me again and again from previous positions I have held. It is obvious that there is tremendous opportunity to Twitter use for hotel marketing. In a span of minutes, we literally have had some decent buzz and gained some new supporters on our Twitter and Facebook profile and business pages.

The snack is that there is a return on investment here, it is undeniable. I think a lot of of the hype we hear is out there surrounding social media marketing sometimes cloud the issue and create skeptics. Precisely quantify ROI that can be impossible, but it "feels" that it is there and that it is valuable in a marketing sense. Intuitively, one senses that a step forward for Marketing and Customer Relations Management instead.

And perhaps we have finally out, how shall "to make it all together" shown with social media? I am not sure but I think we come closer. Anyway, I think now I am forced to withdraw my former comments on the poor ROI of Social Media!
