adwords limits
I have a few questions about google adwords?

I’m thinking about advertising with google adwords, and there’s a few things I don’t understand. I can’t fit all of my url in the ad due to word limit. Does that matter, or does it go there directly, or is there a way around it. The other thing I don’t understand is why can you set a limit to how much you pay per click? Why would you choose 5cents for example when you can opt for 1cent, or is it the more you pay, the more it’s advertised? I really appreciate anyone’s help who understands. Is it worth my money? Thank you very much

Adwords is a fluid medium meaning that your bid per click will determine where your ad appears. Higher click prices appear first in better locations on the page. Where (on the page) your ad appears has a LOT to do with your click through rate.

The other big factor to consider about any PPC advertising is how well you can convert your visitors. How many people must see your product offering before you sell? We generally advise clients to pay a lot of attention to their sales pages before starting PPC.

PPC can be a profitable way to advertise if you target narrow search terms. A common mistake is to compete for broad terms that do not pre-qualify your visitors. There would be little point in competing for “vacation home” if yours was on a lake in Montana. The broad term would include people looking for tropical beach front properties. A better term would be “Montana lakefront”. You would not get as many visitors but the ones you do get are looking to buy what you have to sell.

This answer is overly simplified for a complex question. Spend another month reading about your options before you start to spend your money.
